North Coast Aesthetics is owned by Doctor Kogilan Govender. The practice was opened by Doctor himself  at 118 Silverton Road, Berea and was in operation for the past 2 years,before it was relocated to 490 North Coast Rd.
 
Doctor Kogilan Govender qualified in Medunsa in the year 2000. He served his first year internship at RK Khan Hospital which is based in Chatsworth, Durban. Doctor thereafter completed his community service at PMMH. He then joined his father Dr Visvanathan Govender and sister, Dr Amendri Govender in GP practice on the North coast for 3 years.
 
On a part time basis, Doctor Govender was also a medical officer for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital(PMMH) over a four year period, completing his Dip obst (CMSA).
He was also a medical officer at the Overport, Sea Cow Lake and Chesterville primary care Ethekwini Municipality clinics. He served these clinics for two years and thereafter led the trauma unit at Nu Shifa hospital for 3 years (Having completed BLS, ACLS & ATM).
 
Doctor Govender also studied travel medicine with SASTM in 2008. He completed his aesthetic training with Doctor Karin Semprini in 2010 and is also a regional judge in KZN for the International Federation of Body Building(IFFB). Dr Govender has also been recently appointed as vice chairman for the North Durban Practitioners Group (NDPG), a body representing GP's in the North Coast.
